Heavy-truck extraction that keeps the assembly line moving.

When a truck cannot leave the line under its own power, production still needs to move. INOGEC developed RTM-002, a custom platform-type AGV that grips the tires, lifts the truck, and moves it through tight spaces.

THE CHALLENGE

A truck without propulsion should not hold up production.

At the end of assembly, some trucks cannot move under their own power because of their assembly status or missing components. The previous method used forklifts with hoists and chains mounted on the forks, resulting in slow, imprecise handling with restricted operator visibility.

  • Clear trucks at the production pace
  • Maneuver heavy loads in limited space
  • Reduce risks and operations requiring several operators
  • Prevent an end-of-line bottleneck
THE OBJECTIVES

Make line exit safer and more consistent.

01

Accelerate truck extraction

02

Improve operational safety

03

Reduce manual handling

04

Reduce the number of operators required

05

Keep pace with production

06

Standardize handling and improve reliability

THE SOLUTION

Five functions designed around one truck.

A custom AGV, a tire-gripping interface, and freecaster dollies form a system adapted to end-of-line constraints.

01

Tire gripping and integrated lifting

The U-shaped chassis engages around the wheels. Flexible gripping accommodates front or rear tires according to the configuration, and the integrated mechanism lifts the vehicle. RTM-002 has a lifting capacity of 25,000 lb.

02

Omnidirectional motion

INOGEC’s omnidirectional technology enables lateral and diagonal travel and rotation in place, supporting precise maneuvers in tight spaces and reducing aisle requirements.

03

Safety LIDAR protection

Safety LIDAR detects obstacles in real time. Dynamic safety zones provide protection around the equipment and its load, reducing risks associated with manual handling.

04

Two modes: autonomous and manual

In autonomous mode, BlueBotics technology follows preprogrammed routes. Manual mode gives the operator control for specific situations.

05

Custom freecaster dollies

Freecaster dollies support the truck’s opposite wheels. This combination enables 100% omnidirectional movement of the complete vehicle, making confined-space handling and storage-space use easier.

02SAFETY

Improved safety and elimination of complex, low-visibility maneuvers.

03HANDLING

Fewer operators required and a standardized, more reliable process.

04SPACE

Better use of floor space through omnidirectional movement.
